Queen's Business Law Clinic

smallerMacdonaldHall1.jpgThe Queen’s Business Law Clinic (QBLC) was established to assist people and organizations who could not otherwise afford legal services. We do this because we believe in:

  • Contributing to the economic growth of the greater Kingston and Eastern Ontario region by helping local entrepreneurs groups and small businesses;
  • Supporting local not-for-profit groups and charities;
  • Educating the business and not-for-profit community about our legal system; and
  • Providing Queen’s Law students with a unique professional development opportunity while instilling them with the values of community service and the pro bono tradition

We do this by:

  • Providing pro bono legal services to start-up, small businesses, not-for-profits and charitable groups (e.g.  Incorporating, partnership and shareholder agreements, business contracts, charitable applications, etc.);
  • Holding free learning seminars and workshops across Eastern Ontario on various legal issue; and
  • Utilizing Queen's Law students as caseworkers under the direction and supervision of a senior lawyer.
